Lychgate in Summer

Christ Church Bells Corners (CCBC) is a Christian community in the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa that seeks to be a dynamic presence in the world God loves. With a rich history and a hopeful future, we embrace the challenge of relevancy and faithfulness

We are rooted in the Anglican tradition of common prayer, friendship and social justice. The involvement of people of all ages means that this is an exciting and active place.

Our programs focus on nurturing faith in Christ through worship, education and pastoral care. We also serve God’s world by continuing Jesus’ ministry of compassion and hospitality. All of this is made possible through the stewardship of the many blessings given to us by the Holy Spirit.

In 1853, a small group of Anglicans began to worship in Bells Corners as participants in the local Union Church. In time, this group evolved into the congregation of Christ Church Bells Corners, gathering in a small country church near the crossroads at Bells Corners where it worshipped for its first hundred years as a small, rural parish. With the development of suburbs that affected so many cities in the 1950s and 1960s, CCBC grew very fast and in the 60s and 70s most worship services were held in Bell High School. In the 1980s two building projects allowed CCBC to expand adjacent to the little country church that is now our chapel.Today CCBC is an active, intergenerational parish of approximately 300 households. Regular worship rooted in the Anglican tradition is the fountain from which all of our life flows. The nurture of children, adult Christian education, pastoral care, community service, fellowship, and the stewardship of our many blessings are key elements of our life together. Ultimately, we believe CCBC is a family of disciples. There are so many groups, activities and events that give shape to our life.
