Our community is blessed to have many gifted musicians among its members, allowing us to offer both traditional and contemporary music at our 10 am service. The junior and senior choirs play a central role in our music ministry leading our congregational singing, offering anthems and other music for special occasions. Our choirs practice on Thursday evenings from September through the end of May or early June (juniors at 6:30 pm and seniors at 7:45 pm) They are always delighted to welcome new members. If you are interested in finding out more about our choirs, or joining either of them, please This email address is being protected from spambots. Baptism

We are all about baptism. It is a sacrament of new life that gives us our identity as Christians. In baptism we are made one with Christ in his life, death, and resurrection as we celebrate what God has accomplished for us in Jesus. In the life of the Church, people of all ages are presented for baptism. It is a wonderful and blessed moment when a human being is baptized. At CCBC it is always a time of celebration. Adults and older children seeking baptism should contact parish clergy to begin conversations exploring the possibilities, commitments and blessings of baptism.

The baptism of infants and younger is children is also a part of the Anglican tradition that we most often associate with baptismal practice. It is only natural that parents and/or grandparents come to the church so that children may be baptized. Baptism is a wonderful event as our children enter the Christian family and begin their lives as disciples of Jesus; it is a life of many blessings. As well, baptism requires commitment, particularly on the part of those who journey in faith with children. This means finding a Christian congregation and taking the time to make it a family's spiritual home.

In light of this commitment parents are required to make, children baptized at CCBC are members of families that are regular and frequent participants in the worshipping life of this parish or another Christian community. A further expectation is that parents will attend either workshops or interviews with clergy to explore the meaning of baptism and the role the church plays in its abundant grace.

On occasion, we have parents who come to the church for their child to be baptized, although they have not been recently active in church life and worship. This is fine. The birth of a child is a very natural time to evaluate your faith and renew your commitment to the gospel of Jesus Christ and the life and ministry of the church. Very often it is the time of a baptism when parents themselves appreciate the commitment and abundant blessings that are an integral part of being a disciple of Jesus.

Weddings

Like baptisms, weddings are a part of our life of celebration here at Christ Church Bells Corners. People married in this parish are couples for whom CCBC is their spiritual home, regular attendees of worship and participants in our parish life. Very often couples come to CCBC to be married because one of them grew up here and are returning to their family church. At other times couples are searching for a church to be married in and in doing so have taken the time to get to know us and to discern that this is the place they would like to embrace as their parish church as they begin a new life together in the community.

Whether they've been at CCBC for many years or are relative newcomers, couples who come to CCBC to be married have many questions regarding details and requirements. Many of these questions are best answered in conversation with parish clergy. That said couples being married at CCBC can expect four to five interviews with parish clergy prior to their wedding and are required to attend a weekend-long Marriage Preparation Course offered by the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa. In addition, couples work closely with the parish Altar Guild and parish musicians in preparing some of the details of their ceremony. Those wishing to enquire about weddings at CCBC should contact parish clergy.

Funerals

A Christian funeral presents us with a full range of emotions. In a time of crisis as we experience loss and give voice to our hope grounded in the Christian gospel. It is a time that speaks to us at many levels. For family and close friends it is a time to celebrate a life lived and to commend a loved one to the mystery of God's eternal love. For a parish community it is a time of hospitality and ministry while at the same time we celebrate what God has accomplished for all of humanity in Jesus. Funerals at CCBC are conducted according to the Anglican tradition and in the context of pastoral care. Those wishing to discuss funerals, either at a time of pre-arrangement or immediate loss, should not hesitate to contact parish clergy.
