Vocata is an Ottawa-based trio of women's voices whose resident home is Christ Church Bells Corners. This exciting relationship between CCBC and Vocata sees them sharing in ministry in such things as the quarterly healing service and other occasional events like vespers and evening concerts. We are all excited to see how this partnership will grow and evolve.

While finding a home at CCBC, Vocata is also active throughout the region singing at worship services, concerts, weddings and festivals - offering an eclectic mix of Gregorian chant, classical repertoire, folk, Celtic and original compositions, accompanied by piano or a cappella.

The three singers come from three different traditions: Baptist, Roman Catholic and Anglican. Valerie is a member of CCBC and its senior choir and has sung in a variety of musical groups in the Ottawa area. She loves gospel, folk and jazz. Irena has studied chant for the past seventeen years and has been a chorister for most of her life. Laurel has been a choral musician, accompanist and choir director for many years, and is the accompanist for Vocata. Laurel sings with the Choir of St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Ottawa.
